55 million SMS messages sent every day

According to a report published by the UK’s Mobile Data Association (MDA), the total number of text messages sent across the UK’s four GSM networks averaged 55 million per day last month. The MDA said that the rise is due to increased use of interactive text with TV programmes such as Big Brother, Fame Academy and Pop Idol.
