UK mobile users go WAPping crazy

The Mobile Data Association’s (MDA’s) May 2003 report on the UK WAP market shows a doubling of page impressions (PI) viewed by mobile users since September last year. The MDA says PI figures from O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone reached 699 million in May 2003, or 22.5 million a day, more than double the eleven million recorded for September 2002. The most popular sites continue to be those offering ringtones and screensavers, although PI visits to sports and news sites is on the increase.
