PTC warned it may lose WiMAX licence

According to local newspaper Puls Biznesu, PTC may lose its WiMAX licence due to the lack of progress made in deploying the new network. The publication cites a spokesperson for the Electronic Communication Authorities UKE, who said that the procedure for licence withdrawal may be launched against PTC. The cellco has already hit back, saying that ‘requirements concerning the [deployment] schedule were not included in the licence terms.’ PTC acquired the concession two years ago for approximately EUR600,000 (USD700,000), giving it the right to build a WiMAX network in the 3.6GHz to 3.8GHz band.
