Finance department opposes 3G tax breaks

The Philippines’ Department of Finance has criticised plans to give 3G mobile operators Globe Telecom and Smart Communications tax breaks, arguing that the cellcos would introduce the new services with or without the incentives. The incentives were originally granted by the country’s Board of Investments.
