H1 partners Samsung to bring WiBro to Croatia

South Korea’s Samsung Electronics has announced an agreement with Croatian telco Portus (H1) to roll out WiBro mobile WiMAX services to the Croatian market. Under the agreement, Samsung will provide H1 with the equipment and technologies for a planned user trial in Split in the second half of this year, followed by nationwide availability in the first half of 2007. Samsung has already entered contracts to supply WiBro technology and relevant equipment to the US, Italy, Brazil, Venezuela and Japan.
