C&W granted Isle of Man mobile licence

Cable & Wireless International has been awarded a mobile licence by the Isle of Man Communications Commission to provide wireless services on the self-governing island off the UK coast. Cable & Wireless Isle of Man has been providing fixed line services to corporate customers on the island since 2002. Cable & Wireless International also operates on the Channel Island of Guernsey and is preparing to launch a mobile service to customers in neighbouring Jersey. Upon commencement of services on the Isle of Man, it will be the only mobile operator serving all three of the off-shore jurisdictions around the UK.
