DACOM looks to converged services to boost revenues, cut debt

South Korean telco DACOM has targeted an 8% rise in turnover to KRW1.22 trillion (USD1.27 billion) in 2006, according to the Korea Herald, citing Park Jong-eung, the company's chief executive officer. Much of the growth is expected to come from converged services, including VoIP, IPTV and triple-play, whilst the telco plans to introduce a number of new products such as a so-called Wi-Fi phone, providing wireless VoIP telephony for businesses. Park said DACOM aims to cut its debt ratio to 90% in 2006, from the current 118%.
