Verizon off the acquisition trail

A Verizon Communications executive has revealed that the telco does not see the need for more acquisitions to strengthen its business. According to Reuters, John Killian, president of the business services division at Verizon, told reporters that there is no plan to make a move for rival telco Qwest Communications. He commented: “Our focus is very much on the assets we've got today”, and added “We don't see anything major out there ... that we've got to get.” Verizon bought MCI last year to bolster its corporate service portfolio.
