easyMobile moves to the high street
UK MVNO easyMobile has inked a deal with retailer The Link to sell its services via The Link's 295 high street stores. Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the founder of easyJet and EasyGroup, launched easyMobile in conjunction with T-Mobile UK and Danish incumbent TDC in March 2005. The service has thus far been available on solely a SIM-only basis via the company’s website, and has yet to make an impact in terms of market share, having signed up just 15,000 users in its first six months of operation. easyMobile said in a statement that handset prices will start at GBP24.99, which will include GBP10 of airtime. The high street launch will be supported by national press, outdoor advertising and leaflet marketing campaigns.
