New Mexico, new network

Verizon Wireless has completed a USD30 million network upgrade in New Mexico and around El Paso, Texas. The latest upgrade, which follows a USD35 million expansion in the same region in 2003, includes the installation of new base stations to expand coverage and the rollout of technology to improve call quality. Verizon Wireless is the second largest cellco in the US, with 49.3 million subscribers at the end of September.
