Telecoms subscribers grow 16%

The Venezuelan telecoms market recorded 16.2% growth in subscribers during the third quarter of 2005, according to BNamericas quoting the local BCV bank. The nation’s mobile subscriber base grew 37.4% to reach 10.5 million, whilst fixed line subscribers increased 11.7% to 3.6 million. Internet connections jumped 37% to reach 571,940, whilst internet users grew 45% to 2.96 million.
