Account Manager

TeleGeography, a U.S.-based international telecom market research firm known for its authoritative, data-driven research, is expanding its sales staff. Our Washington office is located in downtown Washington on K Street and offers a laid-back, informal culture and a competitive salary and great benefits.

Our research focuses primarily on international telecom services markets and pricing and wholesale communications services. Typical clients include major telecommunications companies, government agencies, investors, and equipment makers. The Account Manager has a large span of responsibilities, including existing client sales, new business development, and client/account management.

As part of the sales team, the Account Manager’s day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Sales of research services and custom research
  • Re-subscribing and up-selling existing subscribers
  • Responding to and generating sales from inbound inquiries within a designated geographic region
  • Developing relationships, collecting feedback, and monitoring existing client usage
  • Maintaining the opportunity pipeline necessary to meet monthly quotas
  • Developing an account plan for each Tier-1 account

Candidates for this position should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor level academic experience
  • 1-3 years experience in sales, preferably in research, consulting, and/or telecommunications
  • Technical knowledge is not required—only the willingness and ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to perform tasks independently
  • Outstanding writing, analytical, and computer skills
  • Strong phone and communication skills
